Patty Dunham Johnson, age 58, passed away on Wednesday March 20, 2024 at her home in Ludowici surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Hinesville on October 1, 1965 and was reared in Glennville.
Graduating from Glennville High School in 1983, Patty's passion for caring shone through in her profession. She served as a nurse at Glenvue Nursing Home before going to work at the Armstrong Cricket Farm. She had a love for animals, reptiles, and especially Dachshunds. Her grandchildren (Angel Babies as she called them) were her prize possessions. Patty was a member of Grace Baptist Church and is preceded in death by her parents W.C. Dunham and Betty Blocker Manke, stepdad, Will Manke, and father-in-law, Thurman Johnson.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Thurman Johnson, Jr. (TJ) of Ludowici; children, Lee (Abbey) Johnson and Ashley (Matt) Blizzard all of Collins; siblings, Wynelle (Bruce) Welsh of McIntosh County and Henry Dunham of Glennville; her mother in law, Peggy Johnson of Ludowici; five grandchildren, Madisyn Johnson, Turner Johnson, Henzlee Blizzard, Maycie Blizzard, and Trace Johnson; her fur baby, Sassy; several nieces and nephews
The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00pm on Friday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from the Chapel of the Glennville Funeral Home with Reverends Thomas Kelley and Stuart Bland officiating. Interment will be in the Grace Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Parker, Keller Wilcox, Charlie Reddish, Steven Blizzard, Chet Smith, and Michael Apostal
Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of the Armstrong Cricket Farm
Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Hospital
Glennville Funeral Home has the honor to serve the Johnson family.
