Patty Wischmeier

Patty Luenebrink Wischmeier, 88 of Seymour passed away Friday, November 14, 2025 at Schneck Medical Center. She was born September 29, 1937 in Jonesville, Indiana to Ralph Fredrick and Thressie Lucille Findley Luenebrink. She was baptized October 17, 1937 at St. John's Lutheran Church White Creek and confirmed April 2, 1950 at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Brownstown. She married Ralph E. Wischmeier on June 30, 1957 at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Brownstown with Rev. O.L. Heartman officiating and they enjoyed 53 years of marriage before Ralph passed away on June 11, 2010. Patty was a devoted member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Seymour for many years.
When Patty was young, she worked various jobs which include working at Larrison's Diner, Canfield's shoe factory, Corning Revere Ware, her Shell Station in Greensburg and the Lutheran Community Home. While in her early 60's she decided to go back to school and earned at Associates Degree from Ivy Tech. She was a loving wife and mother who spent her life caring for her family.
Patty is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ralph, her son, Tony Ray Wischmeier, her brothers, Doil Eugene Luenebrink and Fredrick Ralph Luenebrink, her sister, Norma Jean Marcille Luenebrink Rose and her great-granddaughter, Nova Mueller.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her son, David L. Wischmeier and his wife, Brenda, her daughter, Kathy Jo Wischmeier Engleking and her husband, Nelson, her sister, Carolyn Marie Luenebrink Meyer, her brother, Robert Allen Luenebrink, her grandchildren, Jennifer Leigh Herzner, Brian Eugene Taskey and his wife Beej, Zachary Lee Wischmeier, Calvin Mitchell Spiker, Tyler Lee Wischmeier, Olena Lynn Hanks and her husband, Alfred, her 18 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with Patty's family from 12:00 pm until the time of service at 1:00 pm Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 504 N. Walnut Street, Seymour. Pastors Andrew Currao and Zachary Huffman will officiate. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Ralph at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
