Paul Loyd Andrews was born on April 1, 1937, and died on June 7, 2025. Paul is preceded in death by his parents Ernest Andrews and Margaret Rogers of New York, brothers Leon Edwin and Amos Albert Andrews of New York, and sister Jean Lois Green of Florida.
Paul joined the Air Force in May 1957 and was trained as a military intelligence specialist. During his time in the Air Force Paul built and created a computer program that allowed the military to decode top-secret information in half the time. As a result of his accomplishments, Paul was highly recruited by International Business Machines (IBM). After his military service, Paul joined IBM and retired from there more than 30 years later.
Paul's sister remembers him as one who always loved to tinker, even at a young age. He loved to find out how things worked This continued all of his life. Paul loved aviation. He was a licensed private pilot and owned his own Piper airplane. At one point in his life he was building his own experimental airplane in his shop in the backyard.
Paul is survived by his wife Janice Andrews of 18 years, his daughters Paula Torres (Augus) of Oklahoma, Pamela Bowman (Mike) of Arkansas, Christine Andrews of Oklahoma, and a son, Paul K. Andrews (Anthony) of New Jersey, a step-son, Kenneth Paul Hornor (Lori) of Missouri and a step-daughter, Kathy Sanders (Russell) of Arkansas, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Alice L. Hoyt (William) of New York and brother Earl Wayne Andrews of Oregon.
Graveside services will be held on June 17th at 10:30 a.m. at the Fayetteville National Cemetery, 1000 S. Lt. Col. Leroy Pond Ave., Fayetteville, AR.
