Paul P. Barrette, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on February 28, 1945, in Leominster, Paul's life was marked by his unwavering kindness, his remarkable handiness, and his adventurous spirit.
Paul spent his formative years on French Hill, where he became known for his almost-mythical escapades. He was the best friend one could hope for, a brother from another mother to many, and the mastermind behind numerous adolescent antics. Despite always being on the brink of executing crazy stunts, Paul had an uncanny ability to emerge unscathed, his infectious laughter a testament to his love for life.
After graduating from the local trade school on Mill St in Leominster, where he proudly served as the president of his senior class, Paul embarked on a lifelong career in the plastics industry. His early work experience included various home businesses around French Hill, and he continued working at Victory Market during his high school years. Paul's dedication to his craft led him to become a skilled machinist, and he spent over five decades honing his expertise at notable companies such as Gotham, Bee Plastics, Milor, and K & C Plastics.
Paul's professional achievements were paralleled by his personal life, where he was a beacon of love and support. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 60 years, Linda Brooks (Barrette), with whom he shared a lifetime of cherished memories. His legacy also lives on through his son, Shawn Barrette, and his husband, Jim Chin, his daughter, Kimberly Morin, and her husband, Edward. his brother, Robert Barrette, and his wife, Bernadette, his sister, Lucille Bernhardt, and sister-in-law, Susan Johansson, and her husband, Robert, will fondly remember Paul's generous heart and ever-present willingness to lend a hand. His several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews will miss his playful spirit and the warmth of his presence.
Paul's life was a testament to the virtues of kindness, handiness, and adventure. He approached every challenge with a smile and every opportunity with enthusiasm. His friends and family will forever hold onto the countless memories of joy and laughter he provided, and his influence will continue to be felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
As we say goodbye to Paul P. Barrette, we celebrate a life exceptionally well-lived. His was a journey filled with love, laughter, and the quiet satisfaction of a life spent enriching the lives of others. Paul's story does not end here; it lives on in the hearts of those he touched, a timeless reminder of the difference one person can make in the world.
A calling hour will be held on Friday, November 21 from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. in the funeral home. A funeral Mass will follow in Holy Family Church at 11:00 A.M. with a burial in St. Cecilia Cemetery.
