Paul D. Butler took his last breath at age 72, December 23, 2023, in his home with his best friend by his side. Paul was born October 6th, 1951, to Margie Lou (Deselms) and Nigel M. Butler. He was the oldest of the three Butler boys. He was raised in Burns, WY and graduated from Burns High School. Paul went on to graduate from the University of Wyoming in 1977, then married Teresa (Gladson) in 1982. He has two daughters and five grandchildren that he loved unconditionally and was somehow always right there when they needed him. Paul's passion was beefalo, where he made extremely large strides in the industry and opened many doors for the future generations. He had the first non-AI'ed highbred in the industry and was still actively researching and bettering the beefalo industry in his final weeks. He lived his life much differently than most, but he lived every day to the fullest and without any reservations and his way. Paul's humor was unique and contagious, he was kind, giving and humble and perhaps a little stubborn. He wanted nothing more than his family and friends to always enjoy themselves. Paul is proceeded in death by his parents, Nigel and Margie Butler; son-in-law, SSGT. Brian M. Long, as well as many other beautiful souls we miss every day. He is survived by his brothers, Ron (Kris) and their family, Hal (Leigh) and their family; daughters, Brenda Long and Heather (Beau) Anderson, and his grandchildren; Sydney, Shelby, and Sage Long, Liam and Leila Anderson, and his best friend who he always loved Teresa Butler.
Cremation has taken place and per his wishes there will not be any formal services. Memorial donations may be made to Davis Hospice Center 6000 Sycamore Rd Cheyenne, WY 82001 on his behalf.
