Paul Carr Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Roberts & Sons Funeral Home - Foxborough on Jan. 1, 2026.
Paul Gerard Carr, age 83 of Foxborough and Falmouth, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on December 29, 2025. Paul was born on June 18, 1942, to the late Edward and Jane (Suprenovich) Carr in Boston and grew up in Hyde Park. He was a graduate of Hyde Park High School (1960), Wentworth Institute of Technology (1962), and the former Lowell Technological Institute (1969). As a civil engineer, P.E., Paul was employed for many years at the Massachusetts Highway Department. Paul worked on the Big Dig and was an original member of the state dive team that inspected bridges. He also worked at Massachusetts Turnpike Authority as the Assistant Chief Engineer. Paul was well respected for his strong work ethic.
On April 24th,1965, Paul and his beloved Jeanne Travasso were married at St. James Catholic Church in Stoughton. They settled in Foxborough and raised three children whom Paul adored and mentored throughout his life. An avid runner, Paul completed several marathons and many Falmouth Road Races throughout the years. He also loved hiking the White Mountains of New Hampshire and was a member of the 4,000-footer club, a part of the Appalachian Mountain Club. In addition, Paul enjoyed skiing all over New England in the winter and boating and fishing in Falmouth during the summer. Paul and his family have many happy memories spending time on the water, aboard his boats The Sea Genie and later the Almost There. He was thrilled to become a doting and proud grandfather to his two grandchildren and shared his passions with them. Amidst his active lifestyle, he most enjoyed spending time with family, recounting and listening to the many stories and adventures of his loved ones. A true dog lover, Paul delighted in taking his faithful golden retrievers for countless hikes.
Paul was a faithful parishioner at St. Mary's Church in Foxborough and will be remembered by all who knew him as loving and devoted to his entire family and loyal to his friends. He was always willing to lend a hand, aspired to keep learning, and put his all into every challenge. This is a legacy he passed on to his children and grandchildren. Paul is survived by his cherished wife of 60 years, Jeanne, his daughter Andrea and her husband William Crabtree of Wrentham, his son Paul of Mansfield, his son Brian and his long-time partner Erin Campbell of Mansfield, his granddaughter Victoria Crabtree of South Boston, his grandson Austin Crabtree of Wrentham, and his sister Jeanne Harrigan of West Yarmouth.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, January 6th from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough. It has been an honor knowing Paul, a friend we met on vacation and continued to make memories in Cape Cod every chance we could.Paul was interesting, kind, smart, funny and a true friend. He spoke so highly about his family and what an example to his children the love he shared with Jeanne and a 60 year marriage. We will miss him, and hold our memories close to our hearts. Our deepest sympathy to Jeanne, and the entire Carr family. Sincerely Sharon and Bob Friedman
