It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude that we celebrate the life of Paul Douglas Chappell who was called home to be healed by his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 3, 2025.
Paul was born on May 20, 1961 in Weirton, WV Paul was the son of Arthur Chappell, Sr. and the late Emma (Mutton) Chappell.
Paul is also proceeded in death by his Father in Law and Mother in Law Raymond and Betty Growden.
Paul graduated from Weir High in 1979.
For 30 years Paul shared his life with the love of his life, his wife Pamela Chappell. Paul and Pam lived a life of a true love story which began at Iannetti's Garden Center where they first met.
Paul worked for Weirton Lumber for 22 years and over those years his co-workers become a family to him.
Paul took great pride in every thing he did from being a wonderful husband to Pam, to his yard looking magnificent, to hunting, to his specialty of cooking and grilling. If the garage door was open the aroma would draw the neighbors to the garage with their knife and fork in hand.
Paul would attend Frankfort United Presbyterian Church at times.
Left to cherish Paul's loving memory in addition to his wife Pamela Chappell and father Arthur Chappell, SR are:
Siblings Arthur (Dee) Chappell Jr, Mark Chappell, James (Carol) Chappell, Linda (Phil) Taylor
Sister in Law Susan (Ken) Wakefield and Brother in Law Tim (Patty Lin) Growden
Along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and his Maine Coon "Sierra"
Pam would like to thank AHN Dr. John Herbst and Regi Jithesh CRNP for giving Paul the chance to use Optune which added 13 more months to his life vs the 8 weeks that Paul was given.
A special thank you to WVU Weirton Dr. Saieed Saieed and Krista Parsons FNP for going above and beyond for Paul and Pam during this unfortunate journey. Their medical expertise and supporting Paul and Pam in every decision played an important role in Paul surviving an GBM brain tumor for 33 months.
But most important thanks to our Lord and Savior for giving Paul the strength that he needed be one incredible warrior. Paul was an inspiration to everyone that met him. Paul will always be Pam's hero,
