Paul Daniel Christian

Paul Daniel Christian, age 82, of Tazewell, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on the morning of Friday, October 31, 2025, in Bristol, Tennessee.
Paul was born to the late Raymond Christian and Gladys Edwards Christian on September 5, 1943, in Baptist Valley, Virginia. He attended Tazewell High School and graduated in 1961. He also graduated from Bluefield Business College.
Paul proudly served in the US Army from 1966 to 1968, earning the rank of E5 Sergeant. He remained a proud veteran for the rest of his life.
In 1969, Paul married the love of his life, Phyllis Huffman, with whom he achieved his greatest accomplishments -in his own words, his children, Angie and Chris.
Paul spent his professional life working in banking at Tazewell National Bank and First National Bank of Bluefield, and he was the Chief Loan Officer at New People's Bank in Lebanon. He then spent over 23 years selling cars at Ramey Chevrolet. He enjoyed spending time at South Holston Lake, talking on the phone with his friends, and listening to 50s and 60s music.
Paul is survived by his wife of 56 years, Phyllis, of Tazewell; daughter, Angela, of Tazewell; son, Christopher (Lori), of Piney Flats, Tennessee; nephew, Michael Christian, of Lynchburg, VA; and his canine companions, Lilly Belle and Tiki-Boo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Christian, Jr., and an Infant son, Paul Christian, Jr.
Memorial services for Paul Daniel Christian will be conducted on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 11 AM at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Tazewell, Virginia, with Dr. Scott Sykes officiating. Members of the Casey-Shortt VFW Post #9640 will conduct military rites. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Randy Hicks, George Hayes, David Semones, Jim Fox, Sandy Etter, Kyle Skeens, Dr. Ron Proffitt, Terry Wess, Jim French, Robert Dales, Richard Goss, and Martin Bowling.
