Randy Lee Puckett, age 73, of Richlands, Virginia, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 2, 2025.
Randy was born on November 14, 1951, in Richlands, VA, and was the son of the late Charlie Lee and Annie Hagy Puckett. He was a lifelong resident of the Richlands area. Randy was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church at Claypool Hill, Virginia.
Randy served as a firefighter for the Town of Richlands from 1977 to 2005. He ran into burning houses many times to save people without a single question, but if you had a snake for a pet, you were on your own. He had the biggest heart and wanted to help everyone, and he helped more people than he will ever know.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Puckett Flanary and Virginia Mae Puckett, his brother, Charlie "Drew" Andrew Puckett, and his sister-in-law, Sandy Puckett.
He is survived by:
His wife of 46 years, Naomi Gross Puckett,
Daughter, Miranda Puckett Williams, and her husband, Andrew, of Raleigh, NC
Beloved grandchild, Beatrice Williams
Brothers:
Don Puckett and his wife, Shirley of Claypool Hill, VA
William Puckett and his wife, Susan of Claypool Hill, VA
Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, along with a host of family and friends.
Funeral services for Randy Lee Puckett will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Claypool Hill, VA, with Rev. Carl Howell, Jr., and Rev. Vincent Hogue officiating. Interment will follow at Hankins Cemetery in Richlands, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Andrew Williams, Andrew Puckett, Charlie Puckett, Michael Compton, Brett Compton, Doug Burks, Fletch Dilday, and Bill Alicie. The Puckett family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church.
