Obituary of Bettie Ann Puckett Please share a memory of Bettie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends. View Tribute Book Betty Ann "Bettie" Henning Puckett, 89, passed away on September 19, 2025. She was born in Indianola, Mississippi, on November 16, 1935. Bettie met the love of her life, Jimmie Puckett, when she was just 15. However, they had to hold off on getting married until Bettie finished high school.Bettie had a playful nature about her; she loved playing and joking around with friends and family. After raising children, Bettie worked for La Porte ISD for 25 years before she retired. Bettie was an active member of the La Porte Eastern Star. She loved her family and enjoyed being with each of them. Bettie also enjoyed going bowling, fishing, dancing, and of course seizing the opportunity to pull the handles on a slot machine. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.Bettie is preceded in death by her parents, Freddie Henning and Alliene Eddleston Henning Shuffield; husband, Jimmy Joseph Puckett Sr; daughters, Patricia Ann Puckett and Donna Sue Stewart. Left to cherish Bettie's memory are her sons, Jimmy Puckett Jr and wife Jeannie, Robert Puckett and wife Joniece, and Jerry Puckett and wife Susan; sister, Faye Crisman; grandchildren, Lynette Munoz, Alicia Trant, Cari Queen, Sandy Puckett, Ashley Wilson, Blake Puckett, John Long III, and Michael O. Quinn; great grandchildren, Trenton Rhew, Madison Rhew, Tristian Bernal, Pierceson Bernal, Cason Queen, Aiden Trant, and William Long; and a host of many other family and friends.Services for Bettie will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Clayton Funeral Home, 201 S 3rd St La Porte. Visitation will be from11:00 am to 12:00 pm, with the Service commencing at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow the service at Grandview Memorial Park in Pasadena, Texas.
