Our beloved father, Paul Gordon Coan, "Bubba", passed away on March 25, 2025, at the age of 78 in San Tan Valley, Arizona. Born on September 17, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois, he lived most of his life in Summit, Burbank, and Crest Hill, Illinois before moving to San Tan Valley, Arizona in 2021.
Paul was a proud Vietnam-era Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from Electro-Motive Diesel, where he worked for many years, and then, from Arena Auto Auction, his "retirement job".
Paul was a hardworking, dedicated family man and a supportive and loyal friend. He loved fishing, singing along and whistling to classic country music, watching westerns, and taking road trips with his wife. He was always present to support his family by attending the various events of his daughters and grandchildren. He was known, affectionately, as "Bubba", by his grandkids.
Paul was preceded in death by Diane, his beloved wife of 54 years, his brother, Thomas Donald, Jr., his sister Monna, and his parents, Thomas Donald, Sr., and Irene.
He is survived by daughters, Cynthia (Kenneth), Jeanne (Tony), and grandchildren Nicholas (Rachel), Adriana, Samantha (Bryan), and Matthew.
His quiet presence, his singing and whistling, and his great pride in his family will be deeply missed.
At his request, he will cremated and reunited with Diane, his wife. Though he requested no service, he will always be remembered in our hearts.
