PAUL E. CONNERTY

1942 - 2024

CONNERTY, Paul E. A lifelong resident of West Roxbury, MA, died at home earlier this month. He was 82. Born January 18, 1942, he was the youngest child of Anna (Callahan) and John A. Connerty, a Boston firefighter. Mr. Connerty graduated in 1960 from Cathedral High School and worked for many years with Kemper and later, Arbella Insurance. He was predeceased by his brother, John "Jack" Connerty and sister, Frances (Connerty) Cosgrove. Paul enjoyed vacations on Cape Cod and particularly relished defeating his nieces and nephews in marathon card and board games over the decades, at the summer cottage. With his passing, now maybe some other family member has a chance at winning Uno, as there was never a more tenacious card shark champion than uncle Paul. He will forever be fondly remembered by nieces, Jeanne Cosgrove of North Falmouth, MA, Mary Verbeke of Simsbury, CT, Laura Halstead of Moncks Corner, SC, Dianna Connerty of Summerville, SC; and by nephews, Stephen Connerty of Summerville, SC, Joseph Cosgrove of Methuen, MA and Brendan Cosgrove of San Mateo, CA. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at St. Theresa of Avila Church, 2078 Centre St., West Roxbury, at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
