Portsmouth, NH - Paul "Seadog" Archibald Fulmore, 88, of Portsmouth, NH (originally of Winthrop, MA), reunited with Jesus and went home to Heaven on Saturday, May 24th, 2025 following a long and courageous battle with dementia and complications from a prior stroke.
Born on April 30, 1937, in Winthrop, MA, to Archibald Fulmore and Esther Tierney, Paul grew up along the Massachusetts coastline that would shape his lifelong love for the sea. He later settled in Raynham, MA, where he raised his family before retiring to Gulf Breeze, Florida.
In recent years, he returned to New England to be closer to loved ones during his declining health.
A proud Navy veteran and seasoned Merchant Mariner, Paul traveled the world and never passed up the chance for adventure. Whether at sea or on land, he relished new experiences and friendships.
His life was filled with stories, wisdom, and laughter. Affectionately nicknamed "Seadog" by his family, Paul had a love for animals, particularly dogs. During his time at the Edgewood Center, he was known as the "dog whisperer," always
ready with a smile, a gentle kiss, and a treat ready for any furry friend who passed his way.
He was a loyal sports fan, with a particular passion for football and a fierce devotion to the University of Alabama-Roll Tide echoed often from wherever he was watching the game, and he was rarely seen without his beloved Alabama hat.
When asked by his grandchildren what advice he had for them, Paul simply said, "Never underestimate the power of a strong handshake, a smile, and a good meal."
Paul was a spitfire-full of charm, wit, and wisdom. He lived boldly, loved deeply, and left a legacy of strength, kindness, and adventure.
He will be deeply missed by his children and his seven grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and joy.
He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Fulmore.
Fair winds and following seas, Seadog. We'll miss you always.

I knew Paul from the Edgewood,Centre where I worked. He was a sweet and funny man. One time I was, wearing two cross necklaces, he asked did I know what the two crosses meant, I said no, he said You're double crossed!.so funny! After that he called me church lady, and some staff started calling me that too. We spoke a few times about God and Jesus and our beliefs and faith. His daughter used to visit him a lot and he enjoyed those visits. I'm glad I got to know Paul, he was,one of a kind, as well.as kind,.God bless him and his family.
