Paul Edward Gividen, 67, passed away in his home surrounded by family on Monday, December 9, 2024. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on April 18, 1957, to his late parents, Mary Gladys and Roy William Gividen.
Paul loved collecting Hot Wheels and making friends while doing so. He restored two 1965 classic Mustangs to showroom condition. Anywhere Paul went he never met a stranger and once you met him you could never forget him. He had a way of leaving a lasting impression and making lifelong friends. No matter what circumstance life would throw his way he would meet it head-on. He was a hard worker with an incredible work ethic. He left an impression during his years working at McDonalds, GE, the Census Bureau, and a few other stops before and in between. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, Leo W. Bush Jr.; brothers, Lewis and Bob Gividen; sister, Dorothy Ann Day; and brother-in-law, Leo W Bush III.
Paul is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sheila Gividen; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Gividen; siblings, Thomas and Helen Gividen; mother-in-law, Patricia Bush; sisters-in-law, Karen Bisig (John), Susan Pogue (Raymond Darrell), Monica Crouch (Dennis) and Cindy Dilly (George); a host of extended family members, "Framily", and friends.
His funeral visitation will be held at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 4:00-8:00 PM. He will have a celebration of life at St. Lawrence Catholic Church on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
