Paul Hahn Obituary

Paul V. Hahn, Jr., 81, of Thurmont, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia.

Born on March 29, 1944, Paul was the son of the late Paul and Agnes Hahn. He graduated from Thurmont High School in 1962 and later attended Barber School in 1970. Paul proudly served his country as a Vietnam War veteran with the 3rd Marine Division and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds sustained in combat.

Paul was best known as a Master Barber and the longtime owner of Intowne Barbershop, which he operated for more than 35 years. In addition to barbering, he also owned and operated a painting business and a liquor store in Thurmont. Paul was a skilled barber, painter, and cook, but above all, he was a natural entertainer who loved making others laugh.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jody Lawyer Hahn, and his brothers, Ted Hahn and Phil Hahn. Paul is survived by his children, Jeremy Hahn and wife Angie, and Jason Hahn; his stepchildren, Chad Lawyer and wife Jodi, and Monica Crone and husband Mike; and his grandchildren, Adam Hahn, Carly Hahn, Cole Hahn, Chance Thompson, Chad "Buddy" Thompson, Stella Lawyer, Hazel Lawyer, Jacob Crone, Ethan Crone, and Haley Crone.

Paul enjoyed trips to Myrtle Beach, golfing, hunting, and fishing. He was a member of AMVETS Post 7, American Legion Post 168, VFW, and the South Mountain Rod and Gun Club. He cherished time spent with family and friends and was always quick to mix a drink and share a joke.

A celebration of Paul's life will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at AMVETS Post 7 in Thurmont, with a memorial service beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Rest in peace my Marine Brother Paul, Semper Fi!
I served at Camp David from 1987-1989 and Paul was the best barber I've ever had.....always kept me within regulation hair length (and I liked to always push the envelope with that).... in those days haircuts were a weekly event. I remember fondly his shop was in an old bank building, he had a beer fridge and pool table in the vault, and we'd shoot pool and drink beer as we waited our turn for our haircuts. (What Marine would not like that?) He understood us, he cared about us, he spoke our language, and we had many laughs together.

My deepest sympathies to Paul's family for their loss of Paul, a very special man to us Marines, obviously so much more special to his family.

A great man that served his county as a US Marine, and Purple Heart recipient (I never knew that).

Rest easy Paul. Us Camp David Marines salute you.
