Paul Edward “Ed” Heckman, 82, of Sandy Lake, PA passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025 at Grove Manor in Grove City. Ed was born in Utica to Charles and Hazel (Heffern) Heckman on September 24, 1942 and graduated from Lakeview High School.
Ed married the love of his life, Frances “Fran” Heckman, on September 23, 1961. She precedes him in death passing away 15 months ago. Ed is survived by his daughters: Marti (Lydia Lehmuller) Heckman of Estero, FL; and Lonna (Bill) Fischer of Stoneboro, PA, grandchildren: Caitlin (Camaron) Alexander; Raygen (Sean) Zillig; Reise Fischer; and Travis (Rachelle) Marsteller, great-grandchildren: Finley Alexander; and Emma; Leigha; Alexa; and Gavin Marsteller, brother: Fred (Jean) Heckman, sister-in-laws: Betty and Barb Heckman, several nieces and nephews and son-in-law: Clay Marsteller. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his wife and daughter: Marci Marsteller, his brothers: Dale and Chuck Heckman, and his great- grandson, Dawson Marsteller.
Ed was a member of the Unity of Faith Church, formerly the Stoneboro Methodist Church, for many years. During his career, he worked at Westinghouse and Foster- Grading. He loved hunting, fishing and being outdoors with his father, brothers, grandchildren and nephews. Ed often played golf with his family or in local leagues during the summers, enjoying the warm weather. Ed regularly planted a garden and took great pride in doing so. He was a self-taught carpenter/mechanic and could build or fix anything. He made countless things with his hands, and was such a talented handyman.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home, Inc. 99 Franklin St. Stoneboro, PA 16153. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 4-7pm at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at the funeral home with Pastor Janet Pratt officiating, and a luncheon to follow.
Interment will take place at New Lebanon Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ed’s name to the Lakeview Meals on Wheels, PO Box 704, Stoneboro PA 16153 or the Susan G. Komen Foundation at www.komen.org in memory of his daughter Marci.
