Ronald D. “Ron” Mazon, of Sandy Lake, PA, passed away of natural causes on Thursday, March 12, 2026. He was 65.
A son of Harold J. and Ida M. Shaffer Mazon, he was born in Greenville, Pa on August 14, 1960.
He was a 1978 graduate of Lakeview High School and after graduation he enlisted in the US Army and was honorably discharged after serving in the US Army Reserves for several years.
He worked many years for Choice Products of Stoneboro and then became self-employed and also had a firewood business for many years.
As a homesteader and a lover of nature and the outdoors, Ron was a naturalist and herbalist and was always outside and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others.
Most of all, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by two daughters: Jessica L. (Brian) Manuel and Cindy M. Mazon and a son: Dustin J. Mazon, along with eleven grandchildren and one on the way.
Also surviving are four sisters: Wanda (Bob) Kautchick, Susan Hudson, Becky (Frank) Deets and Bonnie Russell, as well as two brothers: James Mazon and Timothy Mazon, a step-sister, Beth Mazon and a step-brother, Harold Mazon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Stephen Mazon.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, PA 16153. A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
