Paul Jacobucci Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tabor Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Brighton on Mar. 29, 2025.
Paul Jacobucci
On March 27, 2025, Paul Jacobucci, loving husband and father of five, passed away at 90 years of age. Paul has been a long- time resident of the Brighton, Colorado area where he and his cherished wife, Joanne, have lived since they married in November of 1955. They recently celebrated their 69th anniversary, sharing family, devotion, and love.
Paul Jacobucci was born June 1, 1934, in Boulder, Colorado to Jean and Josephine (Forsyth) Jacobucci. Paul had one brother, Frank. Paul is survived by his wife of 69 years, Joanne, and his five children: Steve (Arlene), Dave (Jill), Mary (Donnie), Barb, and Tom, 11 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.
Paul Jacobucci, beloved husband and father, tractor-tamer extraordinaire, leaves a family and community richer for having known him. At 90 years young, Paul kept his characteristic grin and legendary sense of humor intact until the very end.
A man of many talents, Paul was a farmer, real estate broker, water broker, and lifelong community leader. In his later years, he and his wife of 69 years, Joanne, set out in an RV, headed generally in "that direction" as he would say, crossing the country before eventually anchoring his winters in Arizona.
Paul could often be found in Colorado on his porch on the farm he treasured, drink in hand, "surveying his kingdom," a vast empire that included Joanne's roses, well-worn tractors, and land he could probably have tilled in his sleep.
Throughout his life, Paul left an indelible mark on those around him. He had a way of doling out wisdom mixed with wit, ready to offer advice-but never shy to remind his kids they didn't have to take it. What he didn't know (or maybe he did) was that every bit of that advice was treasured and often taken.
The Mountain View School, which was built on farmland donated by Paul's grandfather, was a cornerstone of his family's life. When the small country school closed, the property was returned to the family. Paul's five children, Steve, Dave, Mary, Barb, and Tom all started their school days at Mountain View School.
Paul served on the Ft. Lupton School Board, stepping in for his friend, Clarence Carlson. For 13 years, Paul was more reliable than a school bell. School board nights were sacred. He was as committed to his community as he was his family, a true testament to his dedication to his community.
As the former Ft. Lupton School District president, Paul had the unique honor of handing each of his five children their high school diplomas. It's hard to say who felt the honor more: Paul, his children, or the family members who got to see him preside over those milestone moments.
Paul and Joanne moved into the town of Brighton to be closer to his parents in their later years. After years in his home in town, they built their dream home on their farm west of Brighton where he could enjoy his retirement. He took on the adventure of building the home for him and Joanne on the family farm, embodying the same dedication and tenacity he passed on to his children. For his retirement years they traveled the country in their RV, eventually buying a second home to spend their winters in Casa Grande, Arizona.
He was, in equal measure, his family's protector, comedian, guide, and gardener of character. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, stories, a reminder to keep family close, and always find joy in every situation. He will forever be a part of our lives, our laughter, and will always have a seat at the family table. Rest in peace, Paul. Your devotion to farm life and family will be remembered fondly, and your stories will live on for generations.

Dear Joanne and the Jacobucci family, my most sincere condolences. It was my pleasure to see you both so often over the years as you traveled West and right there in Brighton. You were amazing friends to my big brother and I know he cherished your presence in so many events in his life. Be at Peace Paul, and in your life Joanne.
