Paul Jesson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Riverview Funeral Home - Shelton on Mar. 23, 2025.
Paul Joseph Jesson, age 79, of Shelton peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday March 21, 2025, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of 49 years to Eileen Weiderman Jesson. Paul was born in Bayonne, NJ on November 27, 1945, the son of the late Chester and Helen (Dembosky) Jesson. He graduated from St. Mary's HS in Rutherford, NJ, received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Detroit, and earned his Master's in Mechanical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. While at University of Detroit, he had the unique opportunity to work at Chrysler Corporation Space Division on the Saturn 1B rocket booster in New Orleans, LA.
Paul lived in Connecticut for over 50 years, primarily in Shelton. Paul served his country with the US Army, attaining the rank of First Lieutenant, and completed his service at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. He worked as a Mechanical Engineer for United Technologies Corporation, with most of his 22 years spent at Sikorsky Aircraft. He was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan, loved fine dining, and was a gourmet chef. He took great pride in preparing holiday meals, especially the annual Thanksgiving feast. He enjoyed jazz music, playing golf, traveling the world, and was a proud flag football coach. His family loved to listen to him play the piano. Every endeavor that Paul embarked upon he attacked with passion and enthusiasm.
In addition to his wife Eileen, he is survived by his son Paul C. Jesson and his wife Jennifer Calhoun, his sister-in-law Carol Ryan-Peterson and her husband Cliff Peterson, and his two grand-dogs, Sophie and Alice.
The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton is entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass for Paul on Saturday, March 29, 2025, directly at St. Lawrence Church, Shelton, at 11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the children's charity, Boys Town.
Online condolences can be also extended to the family at www.riverviewfh.com.
