Paul Johnson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by The Meeks Mortuary & Crematory - Washington Street Chapel on Dec. 3, 2025.
Yorktown – Paul L. Johnson, 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at his home, surrounded by family.
He was born in Indianapolis on December 19, 1956, the son of Leslie Johnson and Dorothy (Maple) Fink and graduated from Yorktown High School in 1975.
For over twenty years, Paul worked for Townsend Tree Service and N.G. Gilbert as a gifted mechanic known to be able to fix anything, although there was one problematic weed trimmer that got the best of him. He had previously worked at Borg Warner of Muncie in Quality Control and the Experimental Department. He also spent some time earlier in his career at Woolards John Deere in Muncie.
Paul cherished his family and loved spending time with them, especially his 11 grandchildren. He loved celebrating and gathering with family every holiday, birthday, special occasion, sunny day, rainy day... any chance he could find. Those were the times he would beam with pride and give everyone a dose of his contagious laughter. Beneath his toughness was a gentle soul with a deep and profound love for his family that was evident in everything he did.
He was a hot rod, motorcycle, and classic car enthusiast. He enjoyed collecting dirt bikes and riding them around the farm with his sons. Paul loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, a good fish fry, and boating. He looked forward to the annual family vacation to Tippecanoe Lake, which happens to be where he met his loving wife as a teenager - she didn't stand a chance when she looked into those blue eyes. He loved classic rock and oldies, with his favorite radio station being WOWY radio, the greatest hits of all time!
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Debbie Johnson; his children, Brad Johnson (Christine), Lisa Eckerty (Kevin), Kristy Willis (Aaron), and Brett Johnson (Kelli); his beloved grandchildren, Ava, Waylon, Elliot, Hailey, Taylor, Kinsey, Karsyn, Kaity, Mason, Nathan, and Lane; sister, Margaret Huffman (Robert); sisters-in-law, Dianna Liddy (Tim) and Denise Folgate (Steve); brother-in-law, Don Bradford; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather and mother, Tom and Dorothy Fink; his sister, Karen Bradford; and his mother-in-law, Joanna McKibben.
Services will be held privately on Friday at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Mt. Pleasant Chapel. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery.
