Paul Kokesh Obituary
Preceded in death by his wife, Carole; parents, William T. & Margaret S. Kokesh & brother, William J. Kokesh. Survived by his son, Michael Paul (Aimee) Kokesh; grandchildren, Connor & Ella Kokesh; brother, John Kokesh; sister-in-law, Frances Kokesh, brother-in-law, Ron Billstrom; along with many nieces, nephews & cousins.
Paul graduated from Hopkins High School in 1955 and attended the University of Minnesota. Paul went to work in the family hardware store in Hopkins, Kokesh Hardware and Kraemer's General Store in Glen Lake. In the 1960's he started selling golf clubs and uniforms and eventually, the business evolved into a chain of sporting goods stores named Kokesh Athletic & Golf.
Paul pioneered many changes to the retail athletic supply industry, which evolved into Metro Athletic Supply. Paul retired after 55 years of selling sporting goods at the age of 75.
Funeral Service 11am Friday June 21st with visitation one hour prior at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 13505 Excelsior Blvd. Minnetonka. Live Stream of the service available at ihm-cc.org. Interment at St. Margarets Cemetery following luncheon.
