Carson Delano Brown II - lovingly known as "Scooter" - entered this world on December 8, 1972, in Youngstown, Ohio, and left it far too soon on August 12, 2025, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 52. Though his time here feels short, Carson's life was nothing less than abundant - filled with faith, family, love, laughter, and a relentless pursuit of excellence in all he touched.
To know Carson was to know joy. He carried an infectious smile, a quick wit, and an unwavering ability to make people feel seen and valued. He loved deeply and without condition - a husband who adored his wife April, a proud father who lived for his children Olivia, Jada, CJ, and Kiah, a devoted son to Colleen and Carson Brown, and a steadfast brother to Carrington (Lindsay) and Chalimar (Tatenda). His extended family - nieces, nephews, in-laws, and countless friends - knew his love to be wide and generous, always offering encouragement, wisdom, or a good laugh at just the right time.
Carson was a man of both faith and intellect. After graduating Valedictorian from Leander High School in Texas, he pursued a degree in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Economics at the University of Minnesota, and later earned an MBA and a Master's in Engineering from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. His career reflected his gifts as both an engineer and a strategic thinker - leading with vision, precision, and a heart for people. He brought those talents to roles at HB Fuller, Sleep Number, Walmart, Sam's Club, Tyson Foods, 7-Eleven, and most recently at Compassion International, where he combined his expertise in marketing and finance with his calling to serve.
Beyond his professional life, Carson's passions revealed the fullness of his character. He was happiest in motion - cheering his kids on at soccer, baseball, basketball, and football games, playing golf, hiking, or being intentional with friends and family. He loved sharing books and podcasts, discussing strategy, and always seeking ways to help himself and others grow. He delighted in time spent with the family dogs, Major and Aventus, and was a lifelong Texas Longhorns fan. Above all, Carson was a man of deep faith. He found strength and joy in reading his Bible, in discipleship, in service, and in his work with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Even in his passing, Carson's generosity endures. Through the gift of tissue donation, he has the potential to save up to 90 lives. His liver and right kidney have also been donated to research, helping doctors and scientists in their pursuit of cures for diseases and cancer. Carson's final act of giving reflects the same love, selflessness, and hope that defined his life.
Carson's legacy is not just in the remarkable career he built or the organizations he served, but in the countless lives he touched. He was analytical yet compassionate, disciplined yet playful, brilliant yet humble. To his family, friends, colleagues, and community, he was - and will always be - a model of unconditional love, selflessness, and devotion.
Carson is preceded in death by his grandparents Rubye Golsby and Robert Lee Brown, Harriet and Van Copeland; his aunts Harlean and Gloria; his uncles Louis and Charles Bernard; and his father-in-law John Yungerberg. He is survived by his wife April; his children Olivia, Jada, CJ, and Kiah; his parents Colleen and Carson Brown; brother Carrington and his wife Lindsay with their children Lola, Blake, and Sammy; sister Chalimar and her husband Tatenda with their children Rubye, Solo, Zeke, and Zorah; his mother-in-law Evelyn Yungerberg; April's siblings Lisa Yungerberg and Nathan Yungerberg and his children Fyre and Kingston; and many beloved cousins and friends who will carry his light forward.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 1:30 PM at First Baptist Rogers 3364 W Pleasant Grove Road, Rogers, Arkansas 72758 with the celebration of life to follow at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Carson's name to sponsor a child through Compassion International, a cause close to his heart.
Carson lived his life with intention, integrity, and faith. He reminded us - through his actions, his laughter, and his love - that success is not measured by titles or possessions, but by how fully you show up for others. His story continues in the lives of those he shaped, and his spirit will forever echo in the love of his family and the many lives he touched.

Carson (F3-Slurpee) -my brother, my friend.
I´ll always cherish our coffee dates, the joy on your face when you talked about your family, your timely wit and wisdom, and the way you genuinely cared about me and mine.

Just a few weeks ago, you called after having a dream-you didn´t wait. You picked up the phone, checked on me, and set up a coffee. That was Carson: a true friend and an obedient man of faith. If "friendship" were a gift, you carried it well.

You remind me that life is short, and that the memories we make are the treasures that last. Thank you for the laughter, the wisdom, and the memories, my friend. I hold fast to the hope that I will see you again - in the presence of the Lord we both love.

My Compassion accounting team and I are heartbroken at the homegoing of our dear friend and dedicated colleague, Carson. Our hearts and prayers are with his family during this very difficult time and we will continue to hold you close in the years to come.

Over the past two years, my colleagues and I have had the privilege of working with Carson...such an intelligent, strategic, and caring person. And just one week to the day before his passing, Carson made sure to ask about my teenage sons and their college plans before jumping into our business conversation.

It was a beautiful example of how he lived out his faith in Christ and his conviction about the importance of others and the precious gift of family. I am confident in the message of II Corinthians 5:8 and look forward to meeting up again with Carson on the other side of Heaven.
