Paul James Kristof

Paul J. Kristof, 47, of Wausau, died unexpectedly, on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
Paul was born on September 29, 1978, in Shawano, the son of James and Faith (Hermann) Kristof
Paul graduated from Wittenberg Birnamwood High School in 1997. After high school, he attended Triton Junior College on a baseball scholarship. Paul then went on to play baseball for Winona State in MN.
Paul worked on the grounds for Tribute Golf Course and Trapp River Golf Course in Wausau for a few years. He was an avid golfer and played baseball for the Wittenberg Pilots BABA baseball team.
Paul later worked as a Timber Cruiser, measuring and evaluating timber on forest properties. He was an active member of the Wittenberg Trailblazers Snowmobile club, where he spent countless hours grooming trails. Paul was known for his quick wit and charming impressions.
Paul is survived by his parents, James and Faith; sister, Jill Kristof; aunts and uncles, Mike (Judy) Kristof, Ruth (Ben) Michonski, Valarie Voelz and Bill Hermann; cousins, Cheryl, Chris, Brian, Josh, Chad, Jason, Nick, Theresa, Kristy, Joshua, Dan, and Nate, and other relatives and friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his grandparents, Allen and Jeanette Kristof and Ralph and Violet Hermann; aunts and uncles, Patricia, Frank and John Kristof; and cousin, Michael Kristof.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg. Vicar James Hartleben will officiate. Visitation will be on Saturday, from 11:30 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
