Paul G. Langenkamp, a Manitowoc resident, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center in Manitowoc with his loving family by his side.
He was born on March 30, 1944 in Milwaukee, son of the late Gurth and Margaret Langenkamp. Paul graduated from Waukesha South High School, class of 1962. He then continued his education at Carroll College in Waukesha, graduating in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science degree, having majored in Business.
Paul was a Texaco, Inc. senior marketing sales representative in central Michigan until March of 1971, when he and his family moved to Manitowoc where he became a franchised licensee of E. K. Williams & Co. for Manitowoc, Sheboygan, and Kewaunee counties, serving small business clients in consulting, accounting, and various tax services.
Paul was a long-time member of Faith Church in Manitowoc, where at various times he was on the finance committee, involved in Christian education, and served as an usher. Also, he participated in small group Bible studies over many years.
He was active in the Manitowoc area in the promotion of Christian films in local theaters, including service as county chairman for the "Jesus" film in 1979.
His community service was primarily as a 25-year member of the First Kiwanis Club of Manitowoc, where he was the club president in 1982. He was also a Salvation Army volunteer.
Paul enjoyed sports. He was on the varsity basketball and tennis teams at Waukesha South High School in his junior and senior years. In his senior year he was undefeated in tennis singles in the Milwaukee Suburban Conference. At Carroll College, he was a two-year letterman in tennis. He was a sports fan of the Milwaukee Bucks, Brewers, Green Bay Packers, and the University of Wisconsin football and basketball teams.
Survivors include his wife: Rosalie, Manitowoc; two sons: Kyle (and his special friend Stacy), Manitowoc and Kirk (Vania) and granddaughters: Ashlyn and Eliana, Menomonee Falls; brother: Bruce (Kate), Scarsdale, N.Y.; one nephew: Eric (Lucie); one great-niece: Ashley; and one great-nephew: James. Other survivors include stepsons: Stuart (Karen) Maples, Phillip (Janel) Maples, and Curtis Maples; brother-in-law: Larry Ripp; step-grandchildren: Bryanna (Max) Aschenbrenner, (Step-great-granddaughter: Paisley), Lexi (Ryan) Richter, William Maples, Leanne Maples and Audrey Maples, four step great-grandchildren: Paisley, Brecken, Bickley and Graham. He was preceded in death by his parents: Gurth and Margaret Langenkamp; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Ben and Ann Ripp; one step grandson: Ian Maples; one sister-in-law: Resa Ripp.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at the Faith Church, 2201 South 42nd St., Manitowoc. Pastor Jeremy Vance will officiate with burial of his cremated remains at the Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the Church on Wednesday from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.
