Paul LeClere

Paul Marvin LeClere, age 69, of Augusta, passed away Monday evening, July 28, 2025, in the ICU of Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.
Paul was born on May 19, 1956, in Monticello, Iowa, the son of Harlan and Dolores (Hilbert) LeClere. He was raised in the Postville area of Iowa and graduated from Postville High School in 1974. Soon after, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served for eight years. His military service included two tours in South Korea, as well as time stationed at Fort Jackson in South Carolina and Fort Hood in Texas. Much of his military career was spent as a finance clerk.
While serving his first tour in South Korea, Paul met Sun Im Kim, and the couple was united in marriage on May 6, 1975. After his honorable discharge in 1982, Paul and Sun Im moved with their 2 young sons to Augusta, where they had recently celebrated 50 wonderful years together.
Paul worked for many years in the warehouse of Armour Foods in Eau Claire. During this time, he also attended Chippewa Valley Technical College, earning an associate degree in materials management. When Armour was sold, Paul began working with Hearing Defenders, performing on-site hearing tests at large companies. He later accepted a position with Mayo Clinic Health System, where he served as a supervisor in the environmental services department at the Clairemont campus. Paul retired nearly two years ago, a bit earlier than planned due to declining health.
A proud Iowan at heart, Paul remained a devoted Iowa Hawkeyes fan, while also cheering faithfully for the Green Bay Packers. He also enjoyed listening to classic rock, especially the Lynyrd Skynyrd Band.
Paul will be dearly missed by his wife, Sun Im of Augusta; two sons, Paul (Katelynn) LeClere of Carbondale, Colorado, and Eric LeClere of Augusta; his sister, Kimberly (Roger) Lowell of Guttenberg, Iowa; 2 nieces, Charity and Crystal; and nephew, Corey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harlan and Dolores, and sister, Deanna Hughes-Thorton.
