Paul Henry Lynch Jr., a lifelong resident of Dorchester, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. He was 75. Paul was born in Boston to the late Dorothy L. (Arrigal) and Paul Henry Lynch and raised in Dorchester.
Beloved husband of Carol Pendergast of Dorchester. Loving father to Michelle Kennedy and her husband Patrick of Milton. Adoring grandfather to Patrick Jr., Tyler, Braden, and Ryan. Loving brother to Janet Clifford and her husband Kenneth of Weymouth, the late Sharon Kendall and her late husband Peter, and the late Dorothy Ash and her surviving husband Gary. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. From his early days at the Dorchester Y to his later years at Port Norfolk yacht Club, Paul made many friends. Shortly after high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was deployed to Vietnam, where he served as a Dak To Defender in 1969. He fulfilled his duty with honor, though his return home was met without the welcome he deserved.
Nevertheless, Paul endured and worked as a laborer in Cambridge local 151 and many various jobs throughout the years. He spent many years playing in the local softball leagues and later umpired. He was an avid Boston sports fan. Paul loved to socialize. He found joy in the company of family and friends. Paul knew who he was and made no apologies for it. He was funny. He was kind. He was generous. He was honest. He was loyal. He was a man of his word. He loved kids and dogs and they loved him. He could often be found in the company of Charlie Santangelo, his closest, lifelong friend, of which he had many. Paul will be profoundly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 4-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.
