Paul Philip McNaughton, 81, of Swampscott, passed peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with family by his side. Raised in Lynn, he was the son of the late Ralph and Doris (Moulton) McNaughton. Paul was a graduate of Northeastern University and Suffolk Law School where he earned his Juris Doctor. He retired from General Electric after 40 years of service.
Paul's was a life well lived and he remained very active until he became ill several months ago. A staunch defender of the 2nd Amendment, he taught firearm safety for the Essex County Sheriff's Department and at Danvers Fish & Game Club, where he was a lifelong member and past president. Paul enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially loved shooting competitively with the Danvers Desperados. His cowboy name was "Pittsburg Mac" and he won titles in almost every competition he participated in, as well as mentoring countless other "cowboys" over the years. Paul was a proud member of the Shriners Hospital, a member of the Philanthropic Lodge Masonic Temple in Marblehead and a member of The Swampscott Club.
Paul shared 45 years of love and adventure with his beloved wife Elaine (Elias) McNaughton. He was the father of Joy E McNaughton of Lynn, Paul P McNaughton Jr. of Hawaii, Robert Forgione and his wife Rosylene of Swampscott and Leanne Forgione of Salem. He leaves 4 grandchildren: Bonnie Knight and her husband Charles of Salem, Paul P McNaughton III and his wife Marilyn of VA, Ethan Perry of HI and Kayla Rockwood and her husband Joshua of NH. He was great grandfather to Kyleigh and Simon Campbell of Salem, Chloe, Patrick and Zoey McNaughton of VA and Oliver Rockwood of NH.
He was preceded in death by his late wife Jeanne (Covey) McNaughton, his brothers James and Keith, his 1st grandchild Patrick.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at 12p.m. at the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 67 Ocean St. (Rt. 1A), Lynn. Burial will be in Swampscott Cemetery, Swampscott.
