Paul Nilon Obituary

Visit the Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Homes - Floral Park website to view the full obituary.
Paul Nilon, 59, passed away on September 19, 2025, in New York City. He was the sixth and youngest child of the late John E. and Eileen Nilon. Paul was dedicated to his family and was a loving brother to Kathleen Maelia (Edward), Patrick (Wendy), Mary Ellen Gatz (Jeffrey), Eileen Nieves and the late John (Marta). He is also survived by 15 nieces and nephews and 4 great nieces and nephews. Paul grew up in the Village of Floral Park and graduated from Our Lady of Victory School and Floral Park Memorial High School. Even after he no longer lived there, Paul continued to feel a part of the Floral Park community and kept in touch with many of those he grew up with. Those friendships remained invaluable to him. Paul loved team sports, and in addition to being an active participant in his younger years, and dabbling in golf, he remained an ardent fan and possessed an encyclopedic knowledge of baseball, football, and basketball. Paul was a great conversationalist and could engage in an informed discussion about almost anything. He was a genuine people person; a big man with an even bigger heart. He will be forever loved and missed by many.
