Paul Theodore Pearse passed away on July 27, 2025, leaving behind his wife and partner Teresa Voss. Ted, known by many as Teddy, was born on January 5,1943 to Bernard and Isabel Pearse. When he was 5 years old, he became big brother to Christopher Pearse. He spent his childhood in Dearborn and Grosse Pointe where he attended Grosse Pointe High School. Upon graduation he attended Michigan State University where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. After graduation he married his first wife Gail Schollenberger. He served in the Air Force and the United States Navy reserve, retiring as Lieutenant Commander.

Ted began his long and storied advertising career at Campbell-Ewald following in his father's footsteps. He was Vice President with Blair Television and moved on to become Vice President and Director of Sales at WDIV-TV.

Ted shared 2 daughters with his first wife: Jennifer Pearse Huey (David) and Jessica Pearse, whom he adored. He was the proud grandfather of Amelia Pearse, Pearse Huey, and Josephine Huey.

Teddy and Teresa met while working in advertising and later married. They loved their dogs, golfing, traveling and attending Red Wings games.

Ted was a proud member and served on the board of Oakland Hills Country Club and made many lifelong friends. He also loved Red Wings hockey and was featured in Hour Detroit magazine for his unique, incredibly entertaining and outrageously fun Suite No.1 called 'Teddy's Place'. The centerpiece of the suite, a vintage jukebox, would end every night by playing 'God Bless America' to signal the suite closing for the evening. With his huge personality and flair for entertaining, Ted was the life of the party.

Ted has maintained a huge circle of close friends that brought him enormous joy throughout his life.

Ted was predeceased by his father Bernard and mother Isabel. He is survived by his wife Terry; daughters Jennifer Pearse Huey (David) and Jessica Pearse; grandchildren Pearse, Josephine, and Amelia; brother Chris (Judy) and niece Meredith and nephew Will. He is also fondly remembered by extended family, friends and colleagues.

Visitation for Ted will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home 1368 N. Crooks Road, Clawson, Michigan 48017 on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 from 4-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 10am at Holy Name Catholic Church, 630 Harmon Street, Birmingham, Michigan 48009. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed here.

THE ECHO OF GIANTS
(for Teddy)

He could, by his mere presence, clear the gloom. He was oxygen.
He was the lighthouse by which others navigated.
No enemies could ever claim his name.
When a giant exits,
colossal silence remains.
He led with his smart and hired smarter.
He didn´t ask for excellence sometimes, just always.
No oversized egos ever impressed him.
When a giant departs,
the enormity of their footprints never fade.
He was welcomed in boardroom and mailroom in equal measure.
He would attract people like planets to a sun.
No one wanted out of his orbit.
When a giant vanishes,
their absence magnifies.
He was fallible which made him perfect for this life.
He was recognized by throngs but truly known to few.
Now, no more titans standing guard.
When giants fall silent,
they leave us their echoes.
His echo - shaped an industry he loved.
His echo - shaped the souls he touched.
His echo - shapes me still...

Teddy -
You were my friend, my mentor and
my measure of what greatness looks like.
You showed me what it means to be both powerful and kind.
May your dream of heaven´s peace be your eternal reward.
- Wayne
