Frederick Minde, 94, entered into heavenly rest at Angela Hospice in Waterford, in Michigan, on September 27, 2025.

Fred was born in Detroit, Michigan. He grew up in the neighborhood of Harper and Van Dyke on Detroit's east side. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He was an Armored Track (tank) mechanic with a rank of Sargent E-5. During his time with the Army, he received the Korean Service Ribbon with two bronze service stars, a United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, Merit Unit Citation, Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation. Fred didn't talk too much about his service, but he was always proud to have served his country.

As a young man, Fred loved flying model airplanes, working on cars and tinkering with anything mechanical. He loved music and danced his way through the decades. Forty of those decades were shared with his beautiful bride, Esther. Fred was a generous and kind man who would help anyone he could with their car or home project. He loved family and family gatherings. He would often dote on his granddaughter, three grandsons and their spouses. But most of all, he was especially over the moon about his eight great-grandchildren.

Fred is preceded in death by his father, Frederick, and his mother, Lillian. As well as his sister, Bernice, his beloved son, Frederick William, his beloved wife, Esther, and great-granddaughter, Madeline Stephenson.

He is survived by his daughter, Gloria Cameron, and son, Robert Stephenson. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Robert Stephenson Jr. (Kimberly), David Stephenson (Cheryl), Karen Smith (Steven), Timothy Stephenson (Casey). Along with his wonderful great-grandchildren, Joey Stephenson, Laney Stephenson, Cassie Stephenson Ruiz (George), Hannah Stephenson, Emma Smith, Sam Stephenson (Emily), Jake Smith and Lily Smith.

A visitation will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14 and 15 Mile Rd.), on Tuesday, October 7, from 4-7pm. Prayers will be given on Tuesday beginning at 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be given to honor Fred's life at St. John Fisher Parish, 3665 Walton Blvd., in Auburn Hills, on Wednesday, October 8, at 10am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 9:30am.

In memory of Fred, memorials will be appreciated to Angela Hospice, 14100 Newburgh Road, Livonia, Michigan, 48154.
