Paul Miles Pegues of McKinney, Texas passed away June 14, 2025, after a long battle with congested heart failure. He was 89.
Paul was born on March 4, 1936, to Douglas and Gladys Pegues in Cleburne, Texas. After being a 2-time letterman on the Cleburne High School golf team, he attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas. He received a BBA in 1958.
Paul married his high school sweetheart, Phyllis Rownd, in 1957 and they were to celebrate their 68th anniversary June 22, 2025. With his wife and 2 kids, Paul moved his family to Plano, Texas to take a sales position with US Brass, in 1972. He transferred with US Brass to Bloomingdale, New Jersey from 1974-1976, then transferring back to Plano.
Paul was an avid golfer, with 1 hole in one to his name; he made in high school. He was still shooting around his age just a few years ago. He loved people, loved talking, and never missed a meal! His pride and joy were his 2 grandkids, Ryan and Katelyn Pegues. His eyes would light up whenever they would stop by for a visit; he loved to spend time with them.
Paul is survived by his loving wife Phyllis Pegues; his son Patrick Pegues and wife Cathi; grandkids Ryan and Katie Pegues of McKinney, Texas; nieces Cathy Pegues of Cleburne, Texas, and Cindy Pegues of Lubbock, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Douglas & Gladys Pegues, brother Darwin “Darbo” Pegues, nephew Doug Pegues, and his eldest son Phillip Pegues, just one year ago.
There will be a memorial service at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 30, 2025, at Custer Road United Methodist Church.
