Paul Alden Pierce (82) of Greenville passed away Friday, July 5, 2024 at Sharon Regional Hospital.
Mr. Pierce was born March 9, 1942 in Fairview Township to the late Alden Otis and Vera Mae (Bishop) Pierce. Paul married Nancy (Hinkson) Pierce on June 29, 1963 and they celebrated their 61st anniversary together with their family at Andover Village Skilled Nursing home where Paul resided following a stroke in 2022.
Paul sold insurance for multiple companies before retiring from Nationwide Insurance in 2009. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and fishing. He was a huge sports fan and watched the Cleveland Indians (Guardians) and Cleveland Browns every chance he had. In his younger years, he coached and managed Little League and Senior League Baseball.
He enjoyed traveling the country with Nancy and his cousins Mike and Georgette Hinkson and spending the winter in Florida. He loved to spend time in his garden and enjoyed feeding the deer.
He was of Protestant faith and attended services at Andover Village.
His is survived by his wife, Nancy, his granddaughter, Morgan (Scott Broge) Pierce- Meadville, his step-grandchildren: Jerimy Norris-Sharpsville, Leanna Gosser- West Middlesex, Makayla (Cody) Mott- Cleveland, OH, and Matthew Gosser- Brooklyn, NY, his great-granddaughter, Rebecca Norris-Hermitage, his late son's fiancée, Melinda "Mindy" (Millison) Gosser, his sister Helen (Pierce) Harrison, brothers-in-law: Gary (Lisa) Hinkson and David (Jenny) Hinkson, and multiple nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son- Jay Pierce, two sisters, and a brother.
Visitation will be held at Osborne-Williams Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 73 Columbia Avenue, Greenville, PA 16125, from 6pm to 7pm on Thursday, July 11, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 7pm in the funeral home.
