Paul Poindexter, 61, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. Paul enjoyed gardening, listening to his favorite music, and cooking. Paul loved animals, especially his cats Ruby, Monkey, and Riley, but above all, Paul loved spending time with his family and friends.
He was born on December 26, 1962 in Dallas, Texas to Charles and Clara "Aggie" (Koebel) Poindexter. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Poindexter; mother, Clara "Aggie" Poindexter; sister, Delia Blackerby; brother, Ronnie Poindexter; brother, Jimmy Poindexter; and nephew, Jason Blackerby.
Paul is survived by his loving wife Donna Spencer; two sons, Zachary and Austin Poindexter; siblings, Charles "Buster" (Carrie) Poindexter, Greg (Sondra) Poindexter, Rose (Mark) Shepherd, Mary (John) Werblo, Angela "Faye" (Marshall) Cox; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). Memorial service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at the funeral home.
The family requests that contributions in Paul’s memory be made to Floyd County Animal Shelter.
