Paul Polonsky Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Campbell Funeral Home - Beverly on Mar. 27, 2026.
Paul Edward, (P1P), Polonsky, 74, a lifelong resident of Beverly, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Joanne Polonsky, his high school sweetheart and wife of 52 years.

Born in Boston on August 8, 1951, he was the son of the late Asa and Louise (Havian) Polonsky. Paul was raised and educated in Beverly and attended The Claude H Patten Trade School.

Surviving Paul are his two children: Tammy Broughton and her husband Ed of Georgetown, and Mark Polonsky and his wife Melissa of Beverly, and his five grandchildren, Madeline Pratico, Melissa Pratico, Charlie Broughton, Mila Polonsky and Mae Polonsky, his sister-in-law and her husband, Lynne and Frank Meagher and their son, Ken Meagher of San Antonio, TX.

Paul was predeceased by many close friends and family who remained near to his heart.

Paul selflessly served in public safety across Essex County for more than five decades, beginning his career in 1973 as a police officer and later serving as a deputy sheriff and dispatcher. Often the first voice heard in moments of crisis, his calm voice and soothing presence were well known throughout the community and by those who served beside him.

Paul was a proud and devoted family man whose greatest joy in life was the time he spent with those he loved. Family was always his first priority, and you could count on him to be there. He cherished family holidays, trips, dinners out, concerts, and car shows turning ordinary moments into lasting memories that his family will treasure forever.

His funeral service will be at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, on Monday, March 30th at 12:00 pm. Visiting hours will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a Public Service Walk Through commencing at 9:45am. Burial will be at Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.
