Paul Questel Obituary

Paul H. Questel, 68, passed away at his beloved home in Rotterdam, New York, on July 16, 2025. Born on June 18, 1957, in Albany, New York, Paul's life was a testament to the values of hard work and the joy of living in the moment.

Raised in a bustling household on Tampa Avenue in Albany, Paul was the 8th of eleven siblings who shared a close bond throughout their lives. He attended Catholic School before graduating from Albany High School in 1977.

For more than three decades, Paul was a staple at Kaiser Permanente, where he worked his way to becoming the respected warehouse supervisor. His work ethic was unmatched, and his motto, "Do it, Do it Right," resonated with everyone who knew him.

Paul was a devoted father, cheering from the sidelines at baseball games, wrestling matches and supporting his step-daughter at dance recitals. His grandchildren, Abel James, Molly Alice, Scarlett Abigail, and Jackson Richard, were the apples of his eye. He cherished every moment spent with them, often sweetening their visits with candies.

Paul's love for motorcycles was more than a hobby; it was a passion. The open road was his sanctuary, a place where he found both peace and exhilaration. A treasured memory for his family was the sight of Paul meticulously cleaning his motorcycle as his young son polished his bicycle beside him.

Sacandaga Lake held a special place in Paul's heart. It was there, at the family camp, that he reveled in the joys of summer, boating and making treasured memories with family. He also enjoyed camping and fishing with his younger sons. His pride extended to his home and property, where he resided for over 40 years, lovingly called "The Mayor of the Street".

Paul's sense of humor lightened the mood with a well-timed joke. He was a man who found happiness in giving, often lending a hand to neighbors in need, particularly when it came to mowing the grass.

He is predeceased by his parents as well as his siblings Suzanne, Yvonne, and John Questel. He is survived by his children, Paul (Amy), Zach, and Jason Questel; his step-children, Keri, Nikki, and Tommy McGinnis; his cherished grandchildren; his siblings Barbara, Edouard, Thomas, Patricia, Charles, James and Lisa Questel; as well as his former wives, Robin Questel and Carol Wilcox.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Sunday, August 3rd, from 1 PM to 3 PM at the The Harley Rendezvous, 1142 Batter Street, Pattersonville, NY 12137.
