Paul Michael Ramsey, 69, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away surrounded by family, Thursday, February 5, 2026.

Paul was born June 1, 1956, in Des Moines, Iowa to Donald and Emmabell Ramsey. Paul lived life loud, fast, and full of fun. Paul was the kind of guy who could turn any gathering into a good time and any ordinary day into a story worth telling.

He loved NASCAR, horses, and riding his motorcycles, and he was happiest when he was outside-especially with a fishing pole in hand or surrounded by friends. Paul was the life of the party, known for his rowdy sense of humor, a little bit of ornery attitude, and a love for a good joke. If there was laughter going on, Paul was usually right in the middle of it.

He loved music, especially Randy Travis and Creedence Clearwater Revival, which often played in the background of many great memories. More than anything, Paul loved his family and friends, and he showed it by always showing up, having fun, and making people feel welcome.

Paul will be deeply missed and always remembered for his big heart, bigger personality, and the laughter he brought into so many lives.

Paul is survived by his son, Christopher (Dawn Ray) Ramsey; brother, Phillip (Christine) Ramsey; sisters, Rayma Dinnen, Deborah Ramsey; and many nieces and nephews. Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Emmabell Ramsey; and infant brother, David Ramsey.

A private inurnment will take place at a later date in the Liberty Center Cemetery.
