Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium - Hanover StreetPaul Philip Richards Jr., 45, of Manchester, NH, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
Born in Boston, MA, on February 24, 1980, Paul was the beloved son of the late Helen Marie Anne Richards (Berntsen) and Paul Philip Richards Sr.
Paul was an avid sports enthusiast, with a special passion for football. He played for Londonderry High School from 1994 to 1997, where he was a two-way starter as both a defensive nose tackle and offensive tackle. In 1996, the team was ranked number one in New England—a highlight of his athletic career. After high school, Paul continued his love of the game by playing football at UMass Lowell.
Beyond sports, Paul enjoyed engaging in lively political discussions with family and friends. He was known for his sharp wit, great sense of humor, and his ability to make others laugh.
Paul was predeceased by his mother, Helen Marie Richards (Berntsen). He is survived by his father, Paul Richards Sr., and his stepmother, Donna, of Manchester, NH; his sister, Michelle Richards, and her husband, Michael Buco, of Londonderry, NH; his uncle Shawn Berntsen, who was more like a brother, his nieces, Jasmine Leborgne and her husband, Cameron, of Saluda, South Carolina, and Mia Buco of Londonderry, NH; his nephew, Alexander Buco of Londonderry, NH; as well as many loving cousins, aunts, and uncles.
His nieces and nephew were the loves of his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Memorial gathering will be held on Friday, November 7th from 6 to 8pm at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. Phaneuf Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
