Alamosa resident Paul A. Robbins, 74, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2024, at the Evergreen Nursing Home in Alamosa, Colorado. Born on February 28, 1950, in York, England, Paul's journey through life was one of constant learning and personal growth that touched many around him.
A battle with cancer may have claimed his final days, but it never dimmed the analytical light he shed on the complex tapestry of life. He was a loving father to sons Tristan Robbins of Monte Vista, CO, and Alex Robbins of Sonoma, CA. The strong bond of family further extended to his brother, Mike (Lynn) Robbins of Lakewood, CO, and his sister, Janet (Bob) Robbins of Loveland, CO, and a half-sister Bobbies Lou from Transverse City, Michigan, along with numerous cherished nephews and nieces. Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph and Alice (Smith) Robbins, and his beloved wife, Mary Berghauser Robbins.
Paul embraced several careers throughout his life including truck driving, entrepreneurship, and teaching. His role as a para teacher at Alamosa High School was one he held especially close to his heart, as he found joy and purpose in enriching the lives of his students. Paul's educational foundation was solid, rooted in a bachelor's degree that paved the way for his diverse professional endeavors.
Reading was Paul's sanctuary; he was often found absorbed in books, exploring the realms of philosophy and history. His love for animals was evident in the affection he had for the many that roamed his farm. A quiet individual by nature, he enjoyed solitude and reflecting on the happenings of the world through his favorite news programs, and his interest in politics showed the depth of his concern for society.
Paul Robbins, will be forever remembered for his thoughtful approach to life and the silent, yet profound impact he had on those who knew him. His memory will continue to inspire all who were privileged to cross his path.
