Paul C Rumrill 81 of Proctorsville VT passed away suddenly on November 6, 2025 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital in Portsmouth, NH after a long battle with chronic illness. Paul was born in Springfield Vermont on December 20, 1943, son of Walter Rumrill and Ada (Horton)(Rumrill) Toner. On May 7 1966 Paul married the love of his life Judith (Gosselin) Rumrill. Paul and Judy would have been celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary in May.

Paul was a man who could drive anything, he spent his entire adult life driving trucks of one kind or another. In the early years of his driving career Paul drove tractor trailer over the road taking him away from home for days and even weeks at a time. As his family grew he traded in the long hauls for local runs working for Whitcomb's Paving, Clopay, C&S wholesale grocery to name a few. After "retiring" in his 60's Paul drove dump truck for Springfield Paving in the summer months and drove the employee shuttle for Okemo in the winter months, both of which he loved doing. In 2022 when his eyesight began to fail him and he could no longer drive, Paul hung up his steering wheel for his favorite recliner, for the first time in over 60 years he could relax and enjoy being home with his family. Paul was a great man, a great husband, a great father and a great friend, he was a true family man, his greatest joy was when he was with his family, especially his grandchildren, they were his pride and joy. Paul had a great sense of humor, he loved to laugh, you could often find him watching one of his favorite sitcoms laughing until he had tears streaming down his face. The last 3 years were difficult for Paul, plagued with one illness after another, chronic pneumonia as well as becoming legally blind. The "golden years" were anything but golden for him. Paul had an incredible will to live and would laugh that "the grim reaper tried to get him again". In the early morning hours on November 6th he suffered a massive heart attack, one his tired body couldn't fight back against. Paul will always be remembered for his laughter and his love for his family.

Paul is survived by his 4 children, Michael of Sunapee NH, Tammy of N.Adams MA, Michelle of Reading VT and Julie of Reading VT. Paul was the proud grandfather of 6 grand grandchildren, Zaylee, Sarah, Alyza, Quentin, Oliver and Bailey. He also had 2 great grand children Kylee, Aiden and a great grandson due in December. He is also survived by his Sisters, Diana Jenks (Howard), Patricia Butterfield, Linda Jeffrey (George), Nancy Short (George). Paul is pre deceased by his sister Norma Rumrill and his Brother Walter E Rumrill JR.

In honor of Pauls wishes there will be no funeral services held. A celebration of life for family and friends will be announced at a later date by his family.
