Michael Rumrill Obituary
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Michael Peter Rumrill, a loving son, brother, father, and friend, who departed this life on January 22, 2026, surrounded by family. Mike was born on December 8, 1959 and graduated from Greece Athena High School in 1978. He went on to earn a B.S. in environmental science and geology from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania and founded his company, Leader Professional Services, Inc., in 1995. In 1998 Mike joined Monroe Golf Club, which became his favorite home away from home. Mike was a passionate and hardworking man, dedicated to providing exceptional consulting services to his clients, fostering meaningful relationships with countless friends, and creating an expansive community over his lifetime. Wherever Mike went he spread boundless joy, and he leaves behind a vast legacy of love and connection. Above all, he was a proud and devoted father to his beloved children, Carolyn, Katy and Nathaniel.
He is predeceased by his mother, Ruth McAllister Rumrill. He is survived by his children; his father, Peter Rumrill; siblings Ann and Timothy; and nephews Andrew, Peter and Matthew.
Family, friends and colleagues are invited to call on Friday, January 30 from 4-7 pm at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 3325 Winton Road South. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 31 at 11 am in the All Seasons Chapel at White Haven Memorial Park, 210 Marsh Road, Pittsford, to be followed by a private graveside service and interment. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741 (www.cancer.org) and Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Road, Fairport, NY 14450 (www.lollypop.org/ways-to-give/honor-remember-gifts-of-love/).

Mike grew up in humble beginnings under the loving guidance of wonderful parents who provided strong roots that blossomed him into the man he became. His brother and sister not only loved him but helped nurture him in a way only best friends could. He loved all of his children so much, was very proud of them and cherished fatherhood. Mike is a self-made man who lived the American dream as a businessman and entrepreneur. I am heartbroken and saddened by his passing. I know that God has a plan and heaven is a brighter place with his arrival. I am blessed and honored to call Mike my friend and neighbor. God bless the Rumrill family.

Dear Rumrill Family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. Looking at Mike's picture, I still see that twinkle in his eye and his brilliant smile. Mike and I met at Allegheny College. My fondest memory is playing basketball with him in the gym late past midnight during finals week. My finals were done, but his were not. He was much smarter than I so he was not worried about missing study time. It was a joyous night of basketball, playing one on one and other shooting games. Anyway, I left Allegheny after my junior year but two years later got a phone call from him at 10PM on a work night. He said, "Kathy Burdick is at the Saloon (in Mt Lebanon)....why don't you come on over?" So I got out of my PJ's and headed out on a 40 minute drive. There I met the girl I married....All Thanks to Mike!!!!! Everything I have and have become is because of him. Although life happened and we lost touch with one another, we were reconnected via the phone a few times while Nathaniel was attending Pitt. It is like we never missed a beat. He was so proud of and adored his kids. That message came through loud and clear. Sadly, I am very sorry that we never got to reconnect face to face. I know Mike will be greatly missed as he was a world-class individual. With sincere respect, admiration and love, I wish Mike's Family the best of life, happiness and health.
