Paul Sakowski

Paul J. Sakowski, 64, of Bristol, beloved husband of Lori (Langeway) Sakowski, passed away peacefully at Hartford Hospital on September 17, 2025. Born on July 22, 1961, he was a son of the late John and Helen (Plawecki) Sakowski.
Paul grew up in Bristol, CT. Paul met the love of his life, Lori, when he was 21 while working at GEMS. Their life together was blessed with two adoring children and a fruitful career that led him to his home at UConn Health center in 2004 where he developed countless friendships often involving the daily card games at lunch. By trade, Paul was an E1 Electrician, but it was his bright personality that shined a light on everyone he met.
To anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Paul, he was tremendously loving and caring and had a heart of gold. He was often described as light-hearted, joyful, funny and frequently known for his love of chatting. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching any game. Some of his greatest joys came from playing or watching games with his children, grandchildren, friends and family. Paul was shimmering star that uplifted the spirits of everyone around him. He had a wonderful way of making people feel at ease and was always the life of the party. The world is a dimmer place without Paul's sparkling personality. He will be greatly missed.
Besides his wife Lori, Paul is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Kayla and Christian Johnson of Rochester, MN; his son and daughter-in-law Michael and Deborah Sakowski of Unionville, CT; his brother Kenneth Sakowski of Terryville, CT; his two sisters Terry Heist of Clemmons, NC and Barbara Felie of Brentwood, NH; four grandchildren Jeremy, Nicholas, Lena, and Alexandra, and several nieces and nephews.
A committal service will be held on Tuesday, September 23 at 10am at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 522 Terryville Ave., Bristol.
