Paul Shuttleworth Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jobe Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.-Plum Chapel - Monroeville on Mar. 13, 2026.
Paul "Bill" William Shuttleworth, Jr. (1942-2026)
of Renfrew, PA, formerly of Monroeville, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 13, 2026. Bill was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on August 21, 1942 to Paul and Phoebe Shuttleworth. Bill graduated from Gateway High School and then joined the US Army where he served for 3 years before being honorable discharged. Following his discharge, he married Nancy (Shoemaker) in 1965. Nancy and Bill celebrated 60 years of marriage together and raised a beautiful family who loved and will miss Bill very much. Bill was preceded in death by his parents,, Paul William and Phoebe Shuttleworth, and is survived by his beloved wife Nancy Shuttleworth, sister, Eilene Rounce, children, Susan Piotrowski, David (Victoria) Shuttleworth, Brian (Erika) Shuttleworth, grandchildren, Megan (Aaron) Bliss, Erin Piotrowski, Benjamin Shuttleworth, William Shuttleworth, Andrew Shuttleworth, and Isabella Shuttleworth, great grandson, Timotheus Bliss and is also survived by loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. Bill loved his family, enjoyed having people over to his home to visit, and most recently enjoyed greatly following his great grandson, Timotheus as he crawled around the house. Bill had a successful career working for US Airways for almost 40 years as a lead avionics mechanic prior to retiring and "working" his retirement jobs of gardening and tending to chickens. Bill's gardening was impressive. Some summers he grew over 100 tomato plants in addition to many other fruits and vegetables. His summer garden always had enough vegetables to feed his entire family and neighbors. He was happy to donate an abundance of produce from his garden to the local food bank. In his latest years, Bill battled with Alzheimer's and congestive heart failure. Despite having these difficult health conditions, Bill was incredibly strong and determined to remain as independent as possible. He impressed many with his strength and always served his family well. Bill had an unmatched work ethic and was always ready to help anyone. He will be missed but never forgotten. A private burial with Full Military Honors will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. The family kindly suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America (www.alzfdn.org) or the American Heart Association (www.heart.org) to honor Bill's memory. Arrangements by the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL) (412-856-4747). Online condolences may be made at www.jobefuneralhome.com.
