Paul Avery Sims, 91 years old, of Warner Robins, Georgia, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on September 14, 1934, in Birmingham Alabama to James and Ruby Sims.
Paul faithfully served his country in the United States Navy, then moved on to manage Haverty’s for 36 years. He was known for his love and dedication to his wife and family, his love for their dog Sandy, and Alabama Crimson Tide!
Paul was a devoted husband for 66 years to Shirley Sims. Together they raised 3 children- Ronnie Sims, Terry Sims, and Paula Sims-Pridgen, who remember him as a strong, honest, and respectful man. He was papaw to 5 grandchildren- Lyndsey Sims- Kreglow, Stasia Sims, Kaylie Sturick, Zack Coatney, and Kinley Pridgen, and 8 great grandchildren.
A memorial will be held on February 12, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., at Andersonville National Cemetery in Andersonville, Georgia.
Paul will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. His legacy of love and loyalty will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
