Mitchell Nasser Obituary

Visit the McCullough Funeral Home website to view the full obituary.

Mitchell Nasser, born December 12, 1929, in Cambridge, Ohio, passed away on February 8, 2026, in Perry, Georgia. He lived most of his life in Sharon, Pennsylvania, where he built a life centered on family, tradition, and the simple joys he loved.

He was raised by his parents, Frank and Rose Nasser, who came from Lebanon and taught him the importance of love, family, and strong values. Mitchell carried deep pride in his Lebanese heritage, and those traditions—especially the emphasis on family and togetherness—shaped the way he lived.

Mitchell found joy in the simple things. He loved horse racing and followed it closely, always enjoying the thrill of the sport. He was also a loyal Duke basketball fan, cheering them on with plenty of passion. And if you knew Mitchell, you knew he loved good food—especially Mediterranean dishes the whole family enjoyed together, turning ordinary meals into cherished time around the table.

Family meant everything to him. He truly cherished time spent with loved ones and believed deeply in staying close and connected. He had a great sense of humor that kept everyone laughing, and his warmth, enthusiasm, and genuine care for others will always be remembered.

His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife of 68 years, Oneida Nasser; children, Douglas Foote (Ethel) of Fort Valley, Georgia and Susan Battyanyi (Joe) of Midway, Georgia; grandchildren, Stephen Foote (Rhonda), Debbie Foote Gordon (Scott), Jamie Arcand (Drew), Levi Foote (Madisyn), Michelle Swiatek (Brian), Joseph Battyanyi IV (Shelly), and Nicholas Battyanyi; 9 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, February 13, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home with a funeral service immediately following in the chapel. Afterward, Mitchell will be laid to rest in the mausoleum at Magnolia Park Cemetery.

For friends unable to attend at this time, the service will be streamed live at https://www.youtube.com/@McCulloughFuneralHome via the McCullough Funeral Home’s YouTube page.
