Paul Smart Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel on Feb. 3, 2026.
Paul Gregory Smart, age 65, of Springfield, and previously of Forsyth, Missouri, passed away on January 24, 2026. Born on August 24, 1960 , Long Beach, California to Frank Smart and Olivia (Bostic) Smart, Paul was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

He attended Branson High School and went on to become a talented contractor working throughout Missouri, Arkansas and California. If a house was well built, there's a decent chance Paul had something to do with it. If it wasn't, he probably had an opinion about how it should have been done.

Those who knew him well remember his kindness, his generosity to those in need, his wonderful sense of humor, and bold dance moves that required more confidence than choreography.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Olivia Smart and his brother, Keith Smart. He is survived by his daughters, Andrea, Elizabeth and Krystal, his grandchildren Violet, Ember, Dominic and Alivia, and siblings, Steve Lawson of Siloam Springs, AR, Bernice Hearn of Rocklin, CA and Lisa Smart Moore of St. Peter, MO.

A memorial service will be held for friends and family at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Project SHARE in Paul's memory to help vulnerable people in the Ozark community.

Local arrangements were under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel, Forsyth, Mo.
