Paul M. Spinella passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025, at Upstate University Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Utica, New York, on October 17, 1956, Paul was the son of the late Anthony and Barbara (Howland) Spinella. A proud graduate of Clinton High School, Class of 1974, Paul dedicated many years of hard work to McCraith Beverages, retiring in 2022.
Paul is survived by his beloved siblings: Martin and Kathy (Spinella) Eckhardt; Anthony Spinella Jr.; and Mark and Michelle (Croke) Spinella. He was a devoted father to Christopher and Jamie (Morelle) Faniglula, and Michael and Kristin (Legacy) Spinella. His heart belonged to his cherished granddaughters, Paisley and Skylar Spinella, who brought him immeasurable joy and pride.
A true family man, Paul found his greatest happiness in spending time with those he loved. Whether it was cheering on his favorite teams-the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and the North Carolina Tar Heels-or enjoying a round of golf with close friends, Paul's zest for life was unmistakable. He also had a deep appreciation for nature and found peace in gardening and tending to his yard.
Paul's kind and welcoming nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He had a way of making people feel at home, as if they were a part of his extended family. His warmth, humor, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the incredible medical staff of the MICU (6H) at Upstate University Hospital. Their compassion and dedication during Paul's time of need will never be forgotten.
A special thank you goes out as well to the close-knit group of friends who filled Paul's days with laughter, golf outings, and their cherished Friday night "meetings."
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Paul's memory to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation (www.t2t.org), an organization close to their hearts.
Paul's memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His legacy of kindness, loyalty, and laughter will never be forgotten.
Arrangements are under the direction of McGrath, Myslinski, Kowalczyk & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Road, Utica.
