Paul M. Valois, 64, of Phillipston, died unexpectedly on Monday, November 11, 2024, in Athol Memorial Hospital, Athol.
Born in Worcester on December 12, 1959, he was the son of June F. (Arraje) Valois of Worcester and the late Norman F. Valois. He graduated from Holy Name Central Catholic High School, Worcester, and graduated from Northeastern University with his Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He later attended the New England School of Accounting. Paul was a tax accountant who owned and operated The Business Connection of Baldwinville alongside his wife for many years, a job he truly enjoyed. He had previously worked at Simplex Time Recorder Co. He also worked at a variety of restaurants, which included spending time as a bartender, and previously owned and operated two diners, The Coffee Cup Café and The Retro Diner. In addition, Paul had been a financier for Broadview Assisted Living.
Paul was a selfless man, and would help anyone in need. He loved cooking and baking, especially preparing meals for friends and family out of his outdoor kitchen at the family campsite, “Papa Paul’s Korner Kitchen.” He enjoyed watching culinary and crime shows, going on camping trips with family, and spending time at the family’s Florida home. Paul was a true bargain hunter and always loved finding a good deal. He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots, but his greatest joy was his family, and he treasured the time spent with them. Paul was also a member of Holy Cross Church of Templeton.
Besides his mother, Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy J. (Manty) Valois of Phillipston; three daughters, Alyssa Moore and her fiancé Derek Maylin of Athol, Brianna Valois and her husband Christopher Eaton of Haarlem (the Netherlands), and Bethany Valois and her fiancé Zachary Hachey of Winchendon; four grandchildren, Lydia Draleau, Morgan Haley, Emma Maylin and Isla Rae Maylin; a brother, Norman Valois, Jr. and his wife Mary-Jo of Worcester; three sisters, Linda Arland and her husband Peter of New York, Mary Rawinski and her husband Steven of Worcester, and Jeanie Diaz and her significant other Robert “Bob” Roy, Sr. of Worcester; three brother-in-laws, Henry Manty of Templeton, David Manty and his wife Laurie of Phillipston, and Mark Manty of Athol, and sister-in-law, Sharon Manty of Jensen Beach, Florida; several loving nephews, nieces, and cousins; as well as many beloved friends.
Along with his father, he was predeceased by his infant daughter, Ashlee Valois, and his two former dogs, Dutchess and Toro Valois.
