I am so sorry to hear of Paul's death. We first met when Paul attended a talk I gave at the Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne about Nancy Hanks' parentage. We later spent a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon together at the Library of Congress Photographic Department examining photos. He then drove me all around the Hanks country in Richmond County, Virginia including the location he had identified as the home of the Hanks family. Paul's work on this remains the best ever done based on the historical evidence alone. He was a kind, gracious man. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

I am deeply grateful for the support and encouragement Paul gave me as I began to learn about the situation in Israel and Palestine. Paul encouraged me to participate in and speak at National Capital Presbytery´s "Open Space" meetings, designed for people to discuss important topics.
I and others joined him in bringing together people from different Israel-Palestine organizations for an afternoon conference to connect and share experiences. He had wanted to build this initial gathering into something that could be repeated periodically, but covid and his own health issues got in the way.
Paul was a good and passionate leader. His absence from the Presbytery work on Israel-Palestine was keenly felt. He is missed.
