Mary Malony, 80, of Winchester VA passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2024, peacefully at home.

Mary was born in 1945 in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of Wilbur Rollen Mohler and Agnes Clare Kureth. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor's degree in nursing, worked at Sacred Heart Hospital in Cumberland MD and retired from the Western Maryland Health System.

Mom was the heart and soul of our family. She dedicated herself to being there (often at a moment's notice) to help her kids or grandkids. She had a hand in raising each grandchild and made sure they all knew they were loved. She was as important to the adults in the family for support and as a role model as much as for the children.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Wayne Malony whom she married on November 20, 1965; children, Kelly Feller, Kevin Malony (Nicole) and Laurie Joy (Park); grandchildren, Caeman Feller (Kayla), Harrison Joy, Mary Claire Joy, Reid Malony, Emma Saunders and Grant Malony; brothers, William Mohler and Phillip Mohler; sister Karen Murphy.

In addition to her family Mary is preceded in death by her brothers, Marty and Anthony Mohler.

A private burial will take place in Hillcrest Burial Park in Cumberland, MD.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Pallbearers will be Park Joy, Kevin Malony, Caeman Feller, Harrison Joy, Reid Malony and
Grant Malony. Honorary pallbearers will be Mary Claire Joy and Emma Saunders.

This quote from Sacred Scripture, Sirach 6:14-17 states what I want to say about our friend, Midge Malony: "Faithful friends are a sturdy shelter; whoever finds one finds a treasure. Faithful friends are beyond price, no amount can balance their worth. Faithful friends are life-saving medicine. For as they are, so will their neighbors be." Rest in the Love and Peace you shared with us, Midge. Thank you for your friendship.
