Paul Derrek Vezina

Paul Derrek Vezina, beloved son, brother, father & uncle, passed away on June 21st, 2025 in Lakewood, Colorado. He was born on September 19th, 1987 in Lancaster, California to Michelle Dragon-Cordova and Tim Vezina. His family spent time residing in Marquette Michigan and later moved to Iowa where Paul attended schools in Marion and Cedar Rapids.

After moving to Golden, Colorado and attending Red Rocks Community College’s Auto Technology Program, he was employed at LinDen Automotive where he took great pride doing mechanical work while also being skilled at electrical work and detailing vehicles. He adored his Ford Mustang & Thunderbird especially. Paul’s career later included grocer, King Sooper’s, for 15 years where he was promoted to a management position. Most recently, he enjoyed his role as a valued finisher at Spyderco.

Paul was a gifted musician from an early age and was lead guitarist in the band Grimwall. He found joy in nature and animals along with rock climbing, gardening, coin collecting and fusion cooking.

His most treasured role was being a wonderful brother and loving father to his precious daughter Amaya with whom his spirit lives on. Paul was also a compassionate soul, loved by many and a devoted friend.

Paul is survived by family that includes his beloved daughter, Amaya Rae Krivanek Vezina; parents, Michelle and Joe Adrian Cordova of Arvada, Colorado and Tim & Mary Vezina of Marion, Iowa; siblings, Adrienne (Vezina) and Andrew Fontanini of Ankeny, Iowa, Danielle (Vezina) and James Bandos of Whitestown, Indiana, Sam Vezina of North Liberty, Iowa, Abbey Vezina of Marion, Iowa; sweet nieces, Willa & Collins and nephew Truett.

Visitation and a vigil service will take place from 5pm until 7pm, Monday, June 30, 2025 at Spirit of Christ Catholic Church, 7400 W. 80th Avenue in Arvada. A Catholic Funeral Rite will commence at 10:30am, also at the church. A luncheon gathering will follow the Catholic Funeral Rite at Spirit of Christ.

Family and friends of Paul are invited to a reception gathering from 4pm until 7pm, on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at 8301 Chase Way in Arvada. It will be a time to celebrate the life of Paul and share stories and memories. Refreshments will be served.
